The order of things after you land. Follow the airport signs — times and prices vary by airport.
Can’t read a sign or a display? Point the camera at it and it will be translated on the spot.
1. 🛂 Immigration
Have your passport and Visit Japan Web QR (or a paper card) ready, and follow the signs for “Foreign passports”.
2. 🧳 Baggage claim
Collect your bags at the carousel shown for your flight number. From here you can also send a large suitcase straight on to your hotel instead of carrying it.
3. 🛃 Customs
Declare with the Visit Japan Web QR or a paper form. Nothing to declare goes through the green lane.
4. 📶 Get online
Use the free airport Wi-Fi, or buy a SIM, eSIM or pocket Wi-Fi at a counter in the arrivals hall.
5. 💴 Get some cash
Exchange money at a counter, or withdraw yen at ATMs that accept foreign cards (convenience stores and post offices usually do).
6. 🚉 Into the city
Take an airport train, a limousine bus or a taxi. Buy a ticket or an IC card (Suica/Pasmo) at the station.
7. 🆘 If you’re stuck
The airport information counter can help, often in English. For emergencies call 110 (police) or 119 (ambulance/fire).
General guidance only. Always check the official signs and counters at your airport.
